Beaufort International Film Festival - February - Beaufort International Film Festival recognizes aspiring filmmakers from around the world, of almost every genre. Each year the audience grows and its popularity is soaring. With a Hollywood celebrity presence each year including past attendees Blythe Danner, Tom Berenger, Powers Boothe, and more, it’s certainly the “thing-to-do” in Beaufort every February.It also provides an opportunity to showcase the beautiful “film-friendly” region of Beaufort and its Sea Islands. Taste of Beaufort – May - The festival kicks off annually the first weekend in May. Restaurants showcase Beaufort’s culinary treasures along Beaufort's historic waterfront. Come enjoy music, arts, and seafood with free admission! Local and regional bands entertain on the Pavilion Stage. There is also a children’s area, and a 5K run. Craft market featuring local artists and crafters. The Gullah Festival - May - A multi-day celebration of diversity and of the Gullah heritage, this May festival showcases talent from the local, regional, national, and international levels and prides itself on having something to appeal to every taste. Since 1986, the festival has provided a range of art and history exhibits including local choirs, jazz, storytelling, symphonic music, arts and crafts, and theater. The Beaufort Water Festival – July – Since 1956, The Beaufort Water Festival has brought residents and visitors from Beaufort, Charleston, Savannah, Hilton Head Island and parts beyond together in a two-week long celebration of the coastal Lowcountry. The Beaufort Water Festival is comprised of more than two dozen individual events including sporting events, aquatic events, arts & crafts, music and of course, the best of Lowcountry cuisine. The Beaufort Shrimp Festival - October - The Beaufort Shrimp Festival is held annually the first weekend of October in beautiful downtown Beaufort. This is definitely an event with the family that you don’t want to miss! Main Street Beaufort, USA, partners with The South Carolina Shrimper’s Association each year to bring awareness to thousands of visitors and residents. Trick-or-Treat Beaufort – October - Trick-or-treaters are invited to don their Halloween costumes and bring their treat bags for the annual Trick-or-Treat in Downtown Beaufort each October. Light Up the Night Boat Parade – December - Beaufort’s Light Up the Night Boat Parade is the city’s annual Christmas parade of festively decorated boats on the Beaufort River in downtown. It’s quite the unique event and a must-see if you’re in town during the Holiday Season. The parade occurs the same weekend of the Night on the Town Celebration and the city’s Christmas tree lighting.
